Position: Senior Security System Installer
Role Overview:
As a Senior Security System Installer at New Age Group, you will review and analyze project sites, provide recommendations aligned with project guidelines, and implement installation plans based on instructions from the Installation and Service Manager (ISM) and Project Managers. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to ensure installations and service calls are completed to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.
You will represent New Age Group professionally, reflecting our values of leadership, teamwork, and client focus. While based in Concord, Ontario, travel to job sites within and outside the region may be required. The position involves standing for extended periods and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.
Installation & Integration
- Lead the installation of security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intercom, and related technologies.
- Ensure proper functionality and connectivity of all components.
- Program equipment onsite as directed by ISM or Project Managers.
- Conduct ULC Burglar and Protective Signaling system maintenance and submit reports.
- Perform annual preventative maintenance for security systems.
- Complete programming and installation of all ELV (Extra Low Voltage) components.
- Collaborate with remote support teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Update project drawings with necessary details (model numbers, installation heights, cable routes, etc.).
- Complete structured cabling work and adhere to company standards and safety procedures.
- Work closely with ISM and Project Managers to complete assigned projects and service calls.
- Submit reports and recommendations regarding installation challenges or product issues.
- Conduct site surveys for upcoming projects as required.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior installers.
- Ensure all team members have required tools, materials, and equipment onsite.
- Supervise installation teams and conduct training sessions on new technologies and best practices.
- Provide feedback on team performance to ISM for continuous improvement.
- Complete and submit daily vehicle inspections as part of KPI requirements.
- Assist with warehouse operations as needed.
- Pick and prepare equipment for service calls and projects.
- Complete equipment paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Organize returned equipment and assist with inventory counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- High school diploma; post-secondary education in electronics (technician or technologist) preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience installing similar electrical equipment and cabling.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring video surveillance, access control, intercom, and intrusion systems.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Experience with structured cabling solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and manage a team.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
- Knowledge of industry and manufacturer standards.
- Ability to use power tools and operate lifts (with proper training).
- Ability to lift cameras, wall boxes, and other security equipment.
- Comfortable working at heights (with proper safety training).
- Familiarity with systems such as DSC, Protégé, Axis, Hikvision, and network components (jacks, patch panels, switches, routers).
- Valid Ontario G-class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Strong attention to detail and punctuality.
- Competitive salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year
